Frequently Asked Questions

DSC02291

Who can attend?

The activities of Pronto Seminars are available to clinicians (physicians, therapists, social workers, nurses), educators, researchers and their family members.

Can my partner/spouse attend the seminar or workshop?

Yes, we encourage family members to register and participate in the workshops.

Why can’t I book the Villa online?

The Villa is offering our group a preferred rate, which includes a full breakfast and other amenities. These are not available to the general public through the Internet. When you register for the seminar, we will send you instructions about how to make your reservations with the Villa Zuccari.

When does the program start? When should I arrive?

All programs start with a Welcome Reception at 7pm on the first day of the seminar. The Welcome Reception is integrated into the whole program and attendance is mandatory in order to receive continuing education credits. The Reception will provide antipasti and beverages. The introduction usually wraps up around 9pm; time enough to enjoy dinner on your own if you wish.  We suggest that you arrive at least a few hours before the Welcome Reception in order to check into your room and refresh for the evening. Many people arrive a day or two early.

What is the phone number for the Villa?

Villa Zuccari (Umbria): +39.0742.399.402.

[email protected]

Should I rent a car?

Yes, we highly recommend renting a car with your own or a rental GPS. It will be more economical than taxi fares. The Villa Zuccari is in a rural location and is not within walking distance to the many hill towns that are a short drive away. You can pick your car up directly at any airport.

How do I arrive at Villa Zuccari by car?

If using a GPS, it is very important that you come to San Luca (Montefalco). San Luca, the location of the Villa, is a suburb of Montefalco. It is a very small town between two other small towns named Fabbri and Cannaiola. Be sure, when entering “San Luca” into a GPS, it is the San Luca for Montefalco. There are MANY cities named San Luca in Italy! If in doubt go to the city center of Montefalco and call the Villa and they will guide you to the Villa!

How do I get from the Rome airport to the “Termini” train station in Rome?

If you are NOT renting a car, when you pick up your bags in Rome Fiumicino (FCO) Airport, follow directions to the train that takes you to Termini station in central Rome (about 40 minutes away). At Termini station, buy a ticket to Foligno.

What are the closest train stations? How do I arrive by train?

The most convenient train station near the Villa Zuccari is Foligno (15 km from the Villa).  Please visit the Trenitalia website, where you can check the time and price for tickets. We recommend that you check the time schedule for trains but purchase your tickets in person at the station in Rome. When you arrive in Foligno, you may take a taxi to the Villa (30-40 Euro). If there are no taxis waiting when you arrive at the train station, call the Villa at +39.0742.399.402 and the person at the front desk will make arrangements for your transport to the Villa (40-60 Euro).

Does the Villa offer a transfer service or should I take a taxi?

If you are NOT renting a car, you may request a transfer IN ADVANCE from the Villa directly or take a taxi from the train station or airport.  The cost for a private car transfer from Rome Fiumicino (FCO) Airport to the Villa is approximately 200 Euro

What if I have physical limitations?

The Villa has handicap accessible accommodations. If you have difficulty lifting your luggage onto a train, you may wish to consider renting a car or requesting a transfer from the airport to the Villa. Transfer requests must be received one week prior to your arrival.

If I stay at the Villa before and/or after the seminar, do I get the same package rate?

No. However, the Villa Zuccari usually offers preferred rates to our participants (lower than posted rates).

What if I have dietary requirements?

The Villa, with its restaurant, “Le Zuppiere”, makes every effort to accommodate dietary requirements within their farm to table menu. The breakfast provides a large selection of homemade specialties, yogurts, eggs, cheeses, meats, oatmeal and fruits, served buffet style. If you are strict vegan, certain food combinations may meet your needs within a traditional Italian menu. There is an abundance of fresh vegetables, legumes, gluten free pasta and other items on the restaurant menu. In Spoleto, Il Biologico is an excellent natural food store and cafe.

What happens if the Villa is fully booked?

In this situation, contact us immediately and we will send you a list of nearby accommodations.

Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is the closest airport to Villa Zuccari.

Are there any excursions planned?

We plan two excursions for each seminar. Usually one is to a local winery due to the unique wine-growing region. We organize another excursion to an historic nearby hill town. In the past we have had 3 hours walking tours of Assisi and Spoleto.

Is there Internet access?

There is Wi-Fi throughout the Villa.

Is there a laundry or dry cleaner close to the venue?

There is a laundry and dry cleaning service nearby or one can utilize the Villa’s service.

Is it a good idea to purchase travel insurance?

Yes. Most travel insurance will cover some of your costs in the event you cannot travel for some reason or if the event is canceled.

Do you have any airline discounts?

No, because the market is always changing. If you would like help with your travel planning, contact us directly. We also recommend Fare Buzz, which offers discount business class and economy fares. Some other travel resources include Kayak and Hipmunk.

Is there any left luggage service at the railway station?

Yes, usually there is a luggage office where you can leave your luggage for a maximum of 5 days. However, it depends on the city.

What if my luggage is lost or delayed?

Be sure to fill out the claim forms before leaving the airport with your airline representative located in the baggage area, and keep your luggage tickets given to you when checking in for your flight. Once at the Villa, we can help you with the follow up.

Are the rooms single or double? Do the rooms have private bathrooms?

All rooms have private bathrooms. The Villa has single, double and triple accommodations.

Can I share a room with another participant?

Yes, we can help with this. If you would like to share a room, please send your inquiry to [email protected] You must do this AFTER you register.  We cannot guarantee a roommate, but we will send you a list of people who have inquired.

Do you recommend travelers’ checks or ATM?

You may bring travelers’ checks (only in Euro) if you wish, although fewer and fewer merchants are accepting them. We have found that the easiest and most economical solution is offered by ATM machines using your bank debit card and a 4 digit PIN. If your bank offers a Smart Card feature with your debit card, that is what we recommend. More ATMs and merchants are accepting only Smart debit Cards. A Smart Card is a payment card embedded with a computer chip and provides a more secure method of payment. Check with your bank.

What will the weather be like?

It will likely be warm to hot, cooling down at nights. For weather and up to date forecasts, we recommend this link.

What is the appropriate dress?

The warm weather necessitates light casual clothing (we suggest natural fabrics in light colors). As a fair amount of walking is inevitable in Italy, make sure you bring comfortable footwear (sandals or similar shoes are best because sneakers and training shoes tend to make your feet swell up in the heat). Remember no bare shoulders, shorts or beachwear in churches. For men, no tank tops or gym shorts in seminars, restaurants or public places.

Should I bring a yoga mat?

No, we have yoga mats at the Villa.

Will there be a phone number we can call if we are lost?

Best would be our cell phone numbers (+1.415.867.4698 or +1.415.812.2576) or the Villa number: +39.0742.399.402.

What is the exchange rate for my country?

For current exchange rates, we recommend http://www.xe.com.
